Deep Dive into Balfolk Dance

Louise Marius is a celebrated balfolk teacher from the Netherlands. Martha and I had such a great experience learning with her at The Big Branch Festival, we wanted to convince her to make a stop in Peterborough – thankfully, she agreed!

This workshop is tailored to beginners, meaning no experience and no partner are required. The dances that will be taught include the Andro, Hanterdro, Jig, Cercle Circassien and Scottish. These are very social forms of dancing, including chains, circles and paired dances. You can start having fun with these dances very quickly.

The workshop will be at "The John", which is the performance venue on the top floor of Sadleir House. Bring comfortable shoes, and breathable clothing. Costs of workshop: $25-$45 sliding scale. Please bring the exact change if paying cash. This is a non-profit event, with all proceeds going to pay for Louise's time, and the venue booking.

Here is the link to the FB event, if you want to share it.
