Cheese and I are excited to invite the town out to the Pigs Ear Tavern for an Open Southern Old Time jam on November 26th, and December 10th.

We both have a love of southern Old Time music, that has taken us to different places festivals like Clifftop and Black Pot. Sadly, these festivals are only once a year, and even more so of late, they happen in the USA.

It's a small scene in Canada. Southern Old Time happenings aren't too common, as compared to Irish or Canadian Old Time ones. There are a few:

Toronto: Hosted at The Tranzac on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (cheers to Maddy for getting that restarted).

Montreal: Hosted at Grumpy's Bar on every Thursday night. (Hi Randall!)

Rather than let these places have all the fun, we thought we'd try to host our own, and see who would turn up. We'll be sitting in the side room at the piggy form 6-9pm. We'll be in a big circle, and then maybe reposition into an onion if we have a lot of folks showing up. We won't have sheet music to offer, or a PA to plug into. We'll hang out in some common keys for a while to be kind to all the folks in open tunings. No solos. We'll be playing with each other, for each other, and whoever else cares to listen.

Bring an instrument. Tell your friends.
